ISABELLE GUNS CARE BEAR COLLECTION

My name is Isabelle Guns (duh!!) and I have a fasination with Care Bears. I started collecting vintage 80's Care Bears from e-bay since 2000. When I was younger, I really wanted the entire Care Bear collection, however, my parents weren't rich and Care Bears were $$$ at the time at $8 for a boxed standard size bear. I received my first Care Bear at the age of 5 (see pic below), Tender Heart Bear. My mother tossed it out in 1994 'cause it got too dirty (I used to take Tender Heart with me everywhere). Now that I am financially able to purchase as many Care Bears as my hear desires, I've been collecting Care Bears to satisfy my childhood wishes, dreams and desires. Each Bear is stored in a dust free/smoke free home and occasionally cuddled. This page was last updated on August 21, 2008.

1983 Vintage 13" Plush Collection up close include rare UK exclusive versions.
All the bears bellow were purchased on e-bay over the years. The UK exclusives to
date are valued at $500 to $1000 each in Mint condition. Regular series bears are valued
between $20 - $70 dollars. All the bears below are in 100% MINT condition with labels, fur,
logo and tuft in tact. I currently own 14 regular series bears and 3 UK exclusive bears...you do the math!

Share Bear is the only regular series bear worth over $100 due to rarity. Share Bear's original tummy
symbol was that of a milkshake with two straws. Recently Share Bear had a make-over due to controversy.
Her tummy symbol is now two lollipops. The reason for the logo change was 'cause some parents groups thought
that the milkshake with two straws was unhygienic, hence the logo was changed to shut the parents up.

There are two versions of Secret Bear. One talking and the other just a regular plush. I have both bears in MINT Condition.

1983 Vintage 8" plush's. The value for these are under $20 for regulars and $50 - $100 for Mint condition UK Excl.

2003 20th anniversary collection. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Care Bears, exclusive boxed versions were sold
with original tummy symbols including Share Bear (which I don't have yet). These boxed bears below were sold direct from
the dealer before they hit the public market place. I don't know the value of the 20th anniversary bears as they can still be
purchased can still be purchased on-line. I had Funshine bear, however, I gave it away to Alexander, the boy I nannied for
at the time.

This was a carnival prize (PNE 2006) won for me by my darling boyfriend of five years Josh. I don't have a lot of
information on carnival toys. I doubt that these are official, however, if someone can prove otherwise please let me know.
The Care Bear carnival version toys were very cheaply made.

Besides plushies, I also like to collect other Care Bear items. My main focus of course are on the plush bears, however,
if something grabs my attention, I will pick it up.
